Ok! The Video is posted on my Facebook Page! Become a Fan Here and CHECK IT OUT!!!

As for the Instructions…Here you go:

Take your Digital SLR and favorite lens to an outdoor location. Take photos unti you have one good photo at the Correct Exposure! You can change your Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO to gain a good exposure!

Once you have this image go indoors and take a photographing of anything indoors at the Exact same exposure! More than likely this image will be Way underexposed (dark)….Now change any of your three settings, Aperture, Shutter Speed or ISO until you have a correct Exposure. DO NOT take an image with a Shutter Speed any slower then 1/60..(to avoid blur), but you can change your other settings if you’re already at 1/60th~

When you have the correct exposure for your indoor images send me both the indoor and outdoor image and spell out the exact settings you used for both images. I will reply back to you explaining how many stops of light difference there was between each photograph so your indoor and outdoor images were both Correct! DO NOT Use Flash in this assignment!

Make contact with me here and I’ll email you from my work email address for your submissions! Thanks, Trishann

These Assignments are to be completed and submitted by The following Wednesday! That way I can review what you submit to me and configure the next Assignment based on your needs! Please feel free to share all thoughts, questions and ideas as you complete the Assignment

07.10.09 Friday Photo Assignment:

Take your Digital SLR camera and favorite lens out to an outdoor location. Take images until you find the right exposure for the available lighting.

Good starting place for sunny day: ISO 200, f 16 at 1/200 of a second

Overcast day: iso 200 f 5.6 at 1/200

Change f stop or shutter speed until you get a correct exposure.

Now that you have your correct exposure, erase your card to get rid of the test shots.

Now take another image at the correct exposures. That is your Initial Image.

Now I want you to open up your F stop one full stop (i.e if you are at f 5.6, now set it to f 4.0) And I want you to close your Shutter Speed one full stop (i.e. 1/125 to 1/200)

Theoretically these changes in exposure will be the same as your Initial Image.

Now take a third image opening up your F stop another Full stop and closing your Shutter speed another full stop. Continue in this pattern and take 5 images.

The best Initial test Image to take should focus on poles, cars, fencing etc. You want to be able to visually notice how your depth of field will change when you change your F-stop and Shutter Speed.

If your images are a bit blurry you may want to use a Tripod as the slower your shutter speed is the more likely shake will occur and blur your shot.

If you have questions, email me, but I want you to shoot your images in jpeg, shrink them to 4×6 at 72 dpi roughly so they are small images and email me all 5 in one email.

Share your thoughts on what you’ve learned and I’ll respond with my input.

Send everything to: trcouvillion@yahoo.com

Have fun and Go For It!!!
